The Betjeman Arms: Ping Pong, Cider and Ale

Whether you refer to it as ping pong or table tennis, have your bats at the ready…Ping! has arrived in London.

Our very own Betjeman Arms in St Pancras International Station is launching the London Ping Pong Project this evening.  For those of you who haven’t heard, expect to see 100 ping pong tables descend on landmarks around the capital over the next month, with pong players demonstrating their skills on the streets.

We have a number of different Ping! inspired events and games for you to take part in:

  • Take advantage of ‘Ping O’Clock’ where between 5 – 6pm we are offering a jug of Pimms to all terrace dwellers, which will only set you back £15.
  • Come and watch the staff battle it out in a doubles tournament on Monday at 3pm, for their chance to win a £50 bar tab – it’s going to be heated.
  • If you fancy your skills wielding the bat, take part in the ‘Passport to Pingland’ competition, in which a limited edition Ping! bat is up for grabs, all you have to do is complete three challenges on separate tables across the capital, stamping your Passport at each.

In true Geronimo style, we couldn’t imagine not combining this with The Betjeman’s own Cider and Ale Festival, to offer even more value for money to all you pong punters.  From Friday 23rd – 31st July, those taking part in Ping! can show their Passport to Pingland at the bar for special prices on our delectable Cider and Ale menu.  Old favourites and new loves have been added to the special menu, so head on down for some sampling on us.

Ping Pong, Cider and Ale.  Who could ask for more.
